Novena is one of the many planning areas based in Singapore. It is geographically located at the central region of Singapore bordering other major cities. It is constrained by Toa Payoh to the northern side and Bukit Timah to the western side. One of the antique traditions of Novena is devotional prayers which were based on Christianity. The prayers were privately as well as publicly participated. Novena city is home to various great amenities since the time it was discovered. In its center, there lays the Novena square shopping mall. The mall is right above the Novena MRT Station and it is owned by Novena square investments. The mall serves the residents within the entire region. The mall began its operations in the year 2000. It seats on three floors and has 160 stores. Other major shops found around the same area includes Starbucks, cold storage as well as Harvey Norman.
The year 2001 saw the construction of a new bus stop located at Novena MRT Station. In the year 2006, Novena shopping mall underwent a major upgrade and was rebranded as velocity@Novena square. The geographical location of this region has banks next to it. Some of the major banks located around the mall include, POSB and UOB. Resent developments have seen more major shops come up adding to the glory of the region. The region is home to many individual both local and foreigners venturing in businesses. Major projects are expected to complete by the year 2030. Such projects include a modern hospital, a modern medical school as well as step-down amenities. A national center for communicable diseases is also coming up within the region. As a cosmopolitan region, Novena is fast growing and still extending its horizons. The population is growing denser and this is a sign that there is potential for more growth.
